Psalm 34:18 speaks to Felisa’s heart: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Background

Felisa is passionate about helping people find healing, deeper meaning, and greater freedom in their lives. She holds a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters of Teaching from the University of Virginia. Felisa seeks to create a safe and inviting space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, hurts, and challenges. Her steadfast faith in the inherent worth of every individual is evident in her belief that we are all image bearers of God and are deeply loved by him. She finds great comfort in the fact that God is with us in our struggles. This perspective infuses her counseling with a sense of purpose and hope.

Guided by a deep-seated belief in the power of relationships and stories, Felisa integrates Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Theory and mindfulness techniques with relationship-oriented and story-oriented models. This multifaceted approach acknowledges the interconnectedness of an individual's thoughts, behaviors, and emotions while emphasizing the power of story and the healing and transformative influence of relationships.

Family

Felisa and her husband Andrew have a daughter and a son who bring a lot of life and joy to their home, along with their dog and chickens. When not reading a book or enjoying time with loved ones, you would probably find Felisa painting, playing the piano or singing
