I started seeing McKenzie after a few years of built up hardship led anxiety, OCD tendencies, and distance from God. I had lost a baby, moved far away and lost community, and was feeling generally like a shell of myself. She patiently, kindly, and compassionately led me through sessions where we could unpack and address my goals. I felt understood, listened to, and led. Her ability to do all this while also leading me back to Christ each session was a gift to me. I have already recommended McKenzie to a friend and would absolutely recommend her to anyone...

background

After earning her Bachelor’s degree from Furman University, McKenzie went to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, MA where she earned her Master of Arts in Counseling. During her clinical internship McKenzie provided grief counseling to individuals and groups of varying ages and abilities. At Restoration Counseling Center McKenzie works with college students, adults, and couples. Areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, postpartum issues, grief, and major life transitions.

Her hope is that clients find a safe space to be known, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to meet their goals. McKenzie's greatest joy is empowering clients to walk in greater freedom and wholeness as they become more of who God created them to be. McKenzie is passionate about helping people experience more abundant life through counseling. McKenzie’s approach to counseling integrates aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, and client-centered therapy.
